FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

America II makes progress on new warehouse

America II President Jim Magee, St. Pete Mayor Rick Baker, and America II CEO Mike Galinski at the site

St. Petersburg, Fla. November 19, 2001 - America II Electronics, Inc. today began laying the foundation for its newest warehousing facility. The 80,000-square foot work-in-progress, adjacent to America II's corporate campus, will give way to the distributor's second full-service warehouse for shipping, receiving, consignment, and excess inventory management by March 2002.

America II established its first dedicated warehousing facility in April 2000 when it acquired a 156,000-square foot facility also adjacent to its corporate campus. America II CEO Mike Galinski recalled, "We purchased the 156,000-square foot building on the belief that it would support our growth plans for three to five years. At the same time, we secured the 80,000-square foot plot [now under development] as a 'security blanket.' Two years later, the 156,000-square foot building is at 80% capacity, and we're turning to our contingency plan."

Galinski attributes this growth to America II's relationships with the top 10 CEMs, the majority of the largest OEMs, major franchised component distributors, and a base of approximately 2,000 independent component brokers that have developed over the last 18 months. "Our partners have definitely given us the boost we envisioned when we initiated this growth process," Galinski said. "In addition, America II's tried and true 'bricks and mortar' philosophy has helped drive us to this point. During the Internet bubble, when everyone was rushing to build e-business models at the cost of scaling down their inventory, America II went against the grain by using selected best-in-class technology and focusing on the 'bricks and mortar' business model of buying inventory. The foundation we have built over the past few years is now paying off in mind share and market share as customers look to America II as a key link in the OEM supply chain, a master distributor, and a trusted name in logistics, warehousing capabilities, and excess solutions," he added.

In regard to staffing the new facility, Galinski said that America II plans to add approximately 250 jobs over the next three to five years among all of its departments.
