FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
America II taps franchise veterans to head new global programs
St. Petersburg, Florida October 31, 2001 - Pat O'Brien, most recently of Future Electronics,
and Ken Myers, formerly of Avnet Inc. will carry franchise distribution experience into the
independent channel by accepting two newly created positions with America II Electronics, Inc.
Pat O'Brien will serve as America II's Global Director of Supply Chain Solutions, a
position that America II President Jim Magee deemed "integral, in light of the way that customer
demand for America II's supply chain solutions has exploded." Magee continued, "Since the spring
of 2000, we've initiated several moves to strengthen our infrastructure to better meet customer
demand. Now with 200,000 square feet of warehousing and demand from existing customers and
potential customers rapidly increasing, we identified the need to appoint a seasoned
individual to spearhead the inventory solutions side of our business." Backed by America
II's Excess Inventory Management team, O'Brien innovates supply chain solutions aimed at
securing the greatest possible return on initial inventory investment for a global base of
customers. To the position, O'Brien brings 18 years of electronics industry experience in sales,
strategy, and management, including tenure as Southeast Regional Vice President for Future/FAI
Electronics.
Addressing America II's recent strategic alliance to power Avnet's Prómiere Market
Exchange, Ken Myers will serve as America II's Prómiere Global Program Manager. In this role,
Myers will assume responsibility for the America II/Prómiere relationship, to include overseeing
the supply chain solutions and logistics support that America II contributes to the Prómiere
exchange. "To ensure the best possible experience for customers using Prómiere, we set our
sights on an experienced individual to manage the flow of operations and excess inventory
services through the Prómiere exchange," said America II CEO Mike Galinski.
"With 11 years in inside sales and telesales management for Avnet, we felt that
Ken Myers was the right person for the job," he added.
