FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

America II Electronics Enters Strategic Alliance with PromiereSM, An Avnet Company, To Support Inventory Exchange
Hosted Exchange Is Part of Prómiere's Information and Services Offering

St. Petersburg, Florida October 25, 2001 - America II Electronics announces a strategic alliance with Prómiere to power market exchange as part of Prómiere's suite of exchange services. America II contributes its expertise in excess inventory management, giving Prómiere customers access to a market to buy and sell parts. Under the alliance, America II will provide the support for Promiere's market exchange, including order processing, inventory management, ISO 9002-certified final inspection, and shipping. Prómiere is a unique bundling of information and services for the electronics manufacturing industry offered by Avnet. Prómiere provides customers with a wide range of options for solving inventory balancing problems.

"The ultimate goal is to relieve the customers inventory burden caused by over-forecast, decline in demand and engineering changes," explained America II President Jim Magee. "With America II providing the greatest possible return on original inventory investment, customers are free to focus on new designs and the future of their businesses. It's the very reason excess inventory exchanges were called into existence," he said.

"In our continuing effort to support the entire design and supply chain with the widest range of options, we chose America II as a Prómiere alliance because of that company's unique combination of existing infrastructure, financial strength, experienced senior leadership and intellectual property in the management of excess inventory," said Glenn Bassett, Prómiere general manager. "Combining America II's strength with our ability to focus on and solve previously un-addressed customer issues will enable us to provide a complete solution for our customers," he added.
