FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Customer Demand Prompts New Warehouse Acquisition by America II Electronics
St. Petersburg, Fla. March 21, 2000 - America II Electronics this
month acquired a fourth warehouse. The facility, adjacent to the company's
current 200,000 square foot sales, warehousing, and conferencing complex,
places 156,000 square feet of additional space under America II ownership.
America II Operations Director Dave Loney expects full integration of the new
space into America II processes by mid-summer. Until then, the company will
continue to operate out of three warehouses on its corporate site. Two of
these warehouses reserved for consigned inventory are near capacity, and the
new warehouse space will be dedicated to the same purpose in order to make room
for increasing customer demand.
That demand stems from America II's exploding excess inventory, consignment, and
mature product marketing programs, such as those the company has established
with Xicor, Inc. and ICS in recent months. These customized programs, aimed at
providing total solutions to customers from logistical support and product
marketing to asset recovery, are increasingly bringing more inventory to
America II, and adding to its list of strategic partners. "We knew we had
very unique programs to offer, and it was just a matter of time before the
excess, consignment, and mature product programs reached maturity.
Now they have and we are growing to accommodate our increased customer demand.
The new warehouse space will help enable that," Loney explains. Logistical and
inventory management agreements with internet companies, such as the alliance
struck between America II and FastParts.com, are also driving the company's
need for expansion.
Other moves to meet existing customer demand include graduating a new sales
class from the America II University program in February, drawing closer to
the company's goal of growing its force to 250 representatives by the end of the year.
