FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
America II Electronics Announces Progress of International Expansion
LONDON, February 9, 2000 - Since breaking news of its plans for an overseas
expansion one month ago, America II Electronics reports steady progress from
international counterpart America II Europe.
In a gathering Tuesday, America II Electronics President Jim Magee stood behind
America II Europe Managing Director Andy Groom and Sales and Marketing Director
Gill Tory to inform foreign press and industry leaders of developments at the
distributor's new UK-based office. Increasing the headcount at the company's
Stevenage area headquarters and preparing to add substantial amounts of stock
to its onsite warehousing facility are already underway, as is a tactical
campaign to introduce the concept of independent distribution among decision-makers abroad.
Groom compares this ongoing effort to "having a blank slate" in a market barely touched by
the brand of distribution that America II Electronics models. His message to this market:
"We have the quality, inventory, high-caliber management, and financial robustness to
position us alongside franchised distribution - only we fill a different niche by
focusing on allocated, obsolete, and hard-to-find product."
Groom further reported that efforts to introduce the America II model will soon
increase as his team addresses the international OEM market. "Up to now," Groom explained,
"We've been servicing the reseller customer base. We'll continue to nurture this group while
developing and introducing our service with OEM customers."
