Position : Strategic Business Analyst

Summary


The Strategic Business Analysts (SBA) responsibility is to work with sales on providing quotations for strategic business opportunities. The SBA will be assigned quotations which must be manipulated to fit into the company's in-house quoting system and be accountable for the quoting process. The SBA will assist in identifying the right opportunities, review all internal America II data and market data, in order to deliver competitive, quality quotes to it's customers.

 

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  1. Manipulate raw bill of materials (BOM) to prepare for upload

  2. Work with department manager to understand quote qualification sheet from sales; interface with sales to ensure proper definition of quote and customer objectives

  3. Confirm the integrity of the data, where required

  4. Identify and communicate any missing/incomplete quote data resulting in potential problems in the upload/download of the data; and suggest solutions

  5. Must research and understand unique customer details for quoting

  6. Follow standard operating procedures for uploading a quote, to ensure all relevant lines are captured for upload

  7. Scrub column data for each part to match inventory / corrected MFR/ corrected nomenclature
  8. Communicate potential problems with data integrity with the department manager
  9. Work with global sourcing department to obtain the best pricing to quote customer
  10. Analyze all market data and internal company data to make the best possible quoting decision
  11. Analyze gross profit and liaise with department manager to identify any profit leaks, where required
  12. Complete quote within the time frame expected and in accordance to the strategy set out by the sales team

  13. Extract and review quote work with department manager before presented to sales and customer

  14. Ensure all pricing is documented using in-house quote system

  15. Extract file and complete customer copy

  16. Summarize all quotes back to sales; ensuring that the quote meets customer’s expectations.

  17. Review executive summary with department manager and sales, provide breakdown of the quote; focus/bookable lines in order help sales close opportunity, agree on follow-up actions

  18. Follow up with sales team in a timely fashion, log results, review revised strategy with department manager and sales if required, track awards.
