Alan Bird, Supply Chain Manager, America II Europe

Alan Bird has over 30 years of experience in the electronic component industry. Having gained formal engineering qualifications at GEC, Alan entered the component sales business with Farnell Electronic Components in 1981. After being promoted through the sales management ranks over a 16-year period, Alan joined Maplin Electronics as UK Sales Manager. In 2000 Alan became Sales Manager for Arrow Electronics' catalogue business and held a position as Sales Manager in the newly formed Arrow Technologies. In 2003, Alan was recruited by Dionics, Plc. as Sales Manager within the company’s Specialist Distribution business. With America II, Alan assumes responsibility for the negotiation and purchase of excess components from supply partners in the OEM, CEM and distribution channels.
