America II's Corporate SportsFest brings a bustling business community to the beach for a day of "corporate Olympics." Each year, over 100 Tampa Bay area corporations, large and small, form teams
to compete in beach volleyball, tug-a-war, surf and turf relays, and a tube dash. The result?
As many as 5,000 professionals engaging in a little friendly competition and cheering on their
co-workers in one of the most effective community and corporate teambuilding events ever. "Too often you see co-workers a couple offices away from each other who have been doing
nothing outside of nodding 'hello' to each other every morning for years.
What SportsFest
does is bring the business community out of the workplace so employees can socialize and bond.
By the end of the day, you've got people in operations playing volleyball with your accountants,
and they're really bonding," explains America II Corp. CEO and Founder Michael Galinski.
